Federer, Nadal continue to dominate 2017 tennis season
World number one Rafael Nadal and world number two Roger Federer have completely dominated the 2017 season of tennis. Both the players have won six titles each this year, and have swept away all the four Grand Slams too. Let us have a look at how Federer and Nadal have out played the other players this year.
Four GS, only two winners
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal won two Grand Slams each this year. Federer defeated Nadal in the first Slam of the year, the Australian Open, to clinch his fifth title in Melbourne. He then won the Wimbledon, his 19th Slam. Nadal won his 10th French Open title, the most by any player and then later went on to win the US Open.
The Laver Cup
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal teamed up for the first time to play in the first edition of Laver Cup. They played two doubles matches, winning them both and helping their team, Team Europe, register a victory over Team World.
FEDAL share five ATP tour titles
Federer and Nadal have shared five ATP World Tour titles till now this year. While Federer dominated the hard court season, Nadal was far ahead than any other player in the clay court season of the year. Nadal equalled the record of most Masters 1000 titles after winning his 30th title, as Federer chases him with 27 titles.
What's next?
The two would be playing in the Paris Masters tournament, starting 30th October, after which both will be part of the season ending ATP Word Tour Finals. Federer has won the ATP finals six times, while Nadal is yet to win the tournament.
