Carolina Marin's winning run at the 2017 Premier Badminton League (PBL) came to a halt in a match against Mumbai Rockets' Sung Ji Hyun. Representing Hyderabad Hunters, Marin was defeated by Hyun 11-7, 7-11, 14-12 in the women's singles thriller at the NSCI Stadium in Mumbai. The win gave Mumbai Rockets a 2-1 lead over the Hyderabad Hunters.

Hyderabad Hunters gained a point from the men's singles match between Rajiv Ouseph and Ajay Jayaram. Hunters' Ouseph defeated Jayaram 11-8, 11-7 and also broke the winning streak for the Rockets. With this win, the Hunters got a point and now trail the Rockets 2-1. The remaining two matches of the day, a mixed doubles and a men's singles, are Trump matches.

Hyderabad Hunters won the mixed doubles match, which was also a Trump match to take a 2-1 lead against Mumbai Rockets. Swatik Sairaj and Chau Hoi Wah won the thrilling match 11-13, 12-10, 15-14 against lee Yong Dae and Nadiezda Zieba.
