Miami Open: Nadal, Nishikori advance to round three
In a quest to win his first title of the year, Rafael Nadal advanced into the third round of the 2017 Miami Open. He defeated Israel's Dudi Sela 6-3, 6-3. He will face 31st ranked German's Philipp Kohlschreiber in the third round. Japan's Kei Nishikori defeated South African Kevin Anderson 6-4, 6-3 in the second round to face Fernando Verdasco in the next round.
Miami Masters
The Miami Open is an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event for the men's tour and a Premier Mandatory event for the women's tour played annually on the hard courts in Florida. It was first played in 1985. With six wins, Andre Agassi and Novak Djokovic are tied with most men's titles to their names, whereas Serena Williams has eight women's titles.
2017 Miami Open schedule
The 32nd edition of the Miami Open would be played from 20 March to 2 April at Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne, Florida. Both men's and women's defending title holders have pulled out of the tournament.
Raonic emerges victorious against Viktor Troicki
Canadian Milos Raonic advanced to the third round of the Miami Open after defeating Serbian Viktor Troicki. Raonic won 6-3 7-5 in one hour and 19 minutes. He will face Jared Donaldson in the next round.
Kerber, Williams had an easy round two win
World number one Angelique Kerber registered a 7-6(7-3), 6-2 win over China's Duan Yingying in the round two of the women's singles at the Miami Open. USA's Venus Williams defeated Beatriz Haddad Maia of Brazil in straight sets to enter round three. Williams won the match 6-4, 6-3 and will face Romania's Patricia Maria Țig in the third round.
Sania Mirza to play first round match tonight
India's Sania Mirza, along with her doubles partner Barbora Strycova will play her first round match at the Miami Open against Dutch-Czech pair of Demi Schuurs and Renata Voracova.
