Rafael Nadal wins 2017 French Open
Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal continued his dominance on clay as he defeated Switzerland's Stan Wawrinka to lift the 2017 French Open title. Nadal won the match 6-2, 6-3, 6-1 in just two hours and five minutes in Paris. It was the tenth time that Nadal has won at Roland Garros, making it 15th Grand Slam of his career.
First title since 2014
Nadal's 2017 French Open title is his first Grand Slam win since the 2014 French Open. In these three years, Nadal reached the finals of 2017 Australian Open, only to lose to Roger Federer.
Nadal's romance with the clay
Rafael Nadal's first Grand Slam title came in 2005 at the French Open. Since then, Nadal has reached the men's singles finals nine times in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2017, registering victory every single time. He is the only player to win the French Open ten times, a record since the tournament started.
Nada's win-loss record at French Open
Since his debut 13-years ago, Nadal has a win/loss record of 79-2 at the French Open. Unbeatable in the finals, Nadal has won 49 titles on clay courts, a record he shares with Guillermo Vilas.
