World number two Serena Williams defeated her sister Venus Williams to lift the 2017 Australian Open trophy at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.
Serena won the match 6-4, 6-4 in 1 hour 21 minutes to lift her 7th Australian Open.
With the win, she will also move to the top rank in the world from Monday.

With the 2017 Australian Open in her pocket, Serena Williams has won her 23rd Grand Slam title.
She surpassed Steffi Graf's record of 22 Grand Slams in an Open Era.
With 24 titles, Margaret Court is the only player in amateur and open era to have won more titles than Serena Williams.
Serena has won 23 of 29 Grand Slam finals she has reached.

Kontinen-Peers win men's doubles after defeating Bryan brothers
Fourth seeded Henri Kontinen and John Peers defeated the third seeded pair of Mike Bryan and Bob Bryan in the finals of men's doubles to lift their first Australian Open title.
The Australian-Finnish pair won the match 7-5, 7-5 in 1 hour and 14 minutes.
They are also the 10th pair in last 13 slams where both the guys are first time Slam winners.

Arch rivals Federer, Nadal face each other in the finals
Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer will be up against each other in the finals of men's singles of the Australian Open tomorrow.
The duo will be meeting each other in a Grand Slam final since the 2011 French Open, where Nadal had an upper hand.
Probably the most anticipated match of the tournament, it will be the 35th meet for them.
