Delhi boy slams Ranji Trophy's fastest ton
Delhi's Rishabh Pant rewrote records as he went on to score the fastest 100 in the history of Ranji Trophy. His 100 came in just 48 balls while batting against Jharkhand in Trivandrum. The match, however, ended in a draw. This was Pant's second ton in the match after he hit an amazing knock of 117 runs in 106 balls in the first innings.
Mumbai, Tamil Nadu won by big margins
In 2016 Ranji-trophy matches, 41 times champions Mumbai defeated Railways by ten wickets in Group A match of Round five at Mysore. In Raipur, Tamil Nadu won by an innings and 44 runs against Baroda. Baroda could put up just 93 in first innings and 200 in second in reply to Tamil Nadu's 337. Punjab bundled out UP to win their match in Hyderabad.
Karnataka defeated Vidarbha while Assam overpowered Saurashtra
In Group B match at Vadodara, Karnataka defeated Vidarbha by a huge 189 runs margin. Assam also registered a big win of nine wickets against Saurashtra in a rather low scoring match at Kolkata. In Patiala, Odisha and Rajasthan's match ended in a draw. The match took an ugly turn when Odisha team manager accused the Rajasthan team of ball tampering.

The smog in Delhi and Palam led to the cancellation of Ranji Trophy matches between Bengal & Gujarat and Hyderabad & Tripura.
Goa spinners took down Chhattisgarh batting line up
Chhattisgarh's second innings saw seven ducks as Goa spinners took down their batting line up. Goa chased the mere target of 92 to win the match by eight wickets in Cuttack. Himachal Pradesh beat Jammu and Kashmir by five wickets in Ranchi. Matches between Haryana and Kerala in Jaipur and Andhra and Services in Indore ended in draw.
