India register second win at the Hockey Junior World Cup
India are on top of Pool D after recording their second win of the Men's Hockey Junior World Cup 2016 against England. India won 5-3. India was 5-1 in the 59th minute, after which England scored two goals looking for a comeback, but were denied further chances. With two wins from two games, India are virtually in the quarter-finals.
Austria put yet another great game to win 5-2
Although ranked lowest in the tournament, Austria put up another fine show of hockey as they beat Korea 5-2 in their second Pool A match. Hilbert Marcel scored the first goal for Austria in the eight minute. Rudofsky Pit scored two goals - first in 21st and second in 62nd minute of the game. Park Joohan scored both the goals for Korea.
Australia defeat Argentina 2-1 in a tight match
Australia pulled a 2-1 win out of a tight match played against Argentina in Pool A. Govers Blake scored a 62nd minute goal to win it for Australia after the scores were tied 1-1 for almost 25 minutes.
South Africa edge out Canada in Pool D
South Africa won their first match of the tournament after defeating Canada 3-1. Lion-Cashet Kyle, Crowe Ryan, Pfaff Walter scored a goal each for the winning team, keeping them alive for the quarter-finals berth.
Sunday to see Pool B and Pool C matches
Virtually in the quarter-finals, defending champions Germany will take on Japan in their last Pool C match of the tournament. With one win each from their respective two games, Spain and New Zealand will meet each other in their third match. Pool B will see Belgium take on Netherlands and Egypt opposite to Malaysia in the afternoon matches.
