Australia registers first win in Kabaddi World Cup
Australia defeated Argentina to register their first win in the Group A clash of 2016 Kabaddi World Cup. Kuldeep Singh and Jasvir Singh came out as the chief architects in Australia's fantastic 68-45 victory. Kuldeep scored 14 points while Jasvir got 11 tackle points, the most by any player in the tournament. For Argentina, Mariano Pascual scored nine raid points.
Wily Japan pulls off win over Poland
In a slow starter match, Japan registered their second win as they beat Poland 33-22 in Group B of 2016 Kabaddi World Cup. Both the teams looked cautious and reluctant to take any risks as the match started and the first half saw many empty raids. Japan's Kazuhiro Takano picked a total eight points while Poland's Jan Baranowicz got nine points in the match.
Japan look forward to book semi-finals berth
With this win against Poland, Japan has won both their matches of the tournament and stood second on the points table in Group B. With three more matches to go, Japan will reach the semi-finals even if they win just two more matches.
Australia moves to fifth spot with a win against Argentina
In Group A standings, Australia has climbed up one place above Argentina with five points. The top four places are occupied by India, Korea, England and Bangladesh respectively. In Group B, Iran is at the top spot while Japan continued its place at second with 10 points. Kenya and Thailand are on the third and fourth position respectively with one win each.
