Korea continue their winning run at the Kabaddi World Cup

What's the story

Korean team continued their winning run at the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup as they beat Argentina in Group A match. Dominating from the first half, Dong Ju Hong led side won 68-42 and reached the top of table in the group. Cheol Gyu Shin scored nine raid points for Korea while Tae Beom Kim scored seven. For Argentina, Franco Castro scored 10 raid points.

Iran toys with Thailand; wins match

Iran emerged as the top contenders for the title as they beat Thailand 64-23 in the Group B fixture of 2016 Kabaddi World Cup. Iran inflicted six all outs on Thailand and gave no chance to the minnows to bounce back in the game. Farhad Milaghardan, who ended the match with 10 points, scored most points for Iran.

Japan vs USA

Japan beat USA in their debut Kabaddi WC match

Playing their debut Kabaddi World Cup match, Japan defeated the United States of America 45-19 in Group B match. It seemed like USA did not learn anything from their previous defeat against Iran as their defence was without a strategy and made Japan look like experienced campaigners. Japan's captain Masayuki Shimokawa scored seven raid points while Kazuhiro got six match points.

Korea, Iran lead in their respective groups

In Group A, Korea displaced India to go atop of the points table after registering win over Argentina. With 10 points, Iran stands first on the table followed by India with six points and Bangladesh with five points. In Group B, winning both their matches, Iran is on top with 10 points. Japan and Kenya are on second and third position respectively.

In Group A fixture, England will meet Australia whereas Thailand will face Poland in the Group B match. All the four teams have lost their respective first matches of the tournament and would look forward to register a win today.
