India bounces back to defeat Australia in Kabaddi WC
After suffering a defeat against Korea in the opening match, India bounced back and defeated Australia in the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup in Ahmedabad. Ajay Thakur was the top scorer with 11 points as India won 54-20. India had made a few changes in the team; the substituted players fetched early points for India and also helped to extend lead.
Kenya beats Poland in a last minute thriller
Playing in their first ever Kabaddi World Cup, Poland gave Kenya a tough time to win in the group B match of 2016 Kabaddi World Cup. Kenya won the high scoring last minute thriller 54-48, with skipper David Mosambayi scoring 21 points alone. Poland's Piotr Pamulak scored 13 points while their captain Michal Spiczko scored 11 points.

Indian captain Anup Kumar said that their strategy of putting pressure on the Australian team from the start worked perfectly. On the team changes, he said, "Making changes was our strategy to prepare well for our next tie against Bangladesh on Tuesday."
Bangladesh start their campaign on a winning note
In another pool A match, Bangladesh defeated debutants England to start their campaign on a winning note. With captain Aruduzzaman Munshi and Sabuj Mia each scoring eight match points, Bangladesh ended with a 52-18 score. For England, Tope Adewalure also scored eight match points. Captain Someshwar Kalia received the first yellow card of the match after he slapped Bangladesh's raider.

In Group A match, Argentina will face a challenge from South Korea. Thailand will meet two-time runners up Iran whereas United States will face Japan in the Group B matches.
