Indian Aces to meet Singapore Slammers in IPTL finals
Indian Aces lost their last match of the tournament against UAE Royals in the International Premier Tennis League 2016. They lost 24-20. The Aces had already reached the finals of the tournament and the match was just a formality for the Indian team. Indian Aces would meet defending champions Singapore Slammers in the finals on 11 December in Hyderabad.
IPTL moves to Hyderabad after Tokyo and Singapore
The third and the final leg of the International Premier Tennis League was played in Hyderabad on 9 and 10 December 2016. Each team has played six matches till now in the Tokyo and Singapore leg. UAE Royals was up against Japan Warriors while Indian Aces would face Oue Singapore Slammers on first day of the Indian leg.
Indian Aces defeat Singapore Slammers in Hyderabad
Indian Aces registered their third win against the Oue Singapore Slammers in the International Premier Tennis League at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium Hyderabad. The Aces won 24-19. Having won two sets each, it was the mixed doubles set which was the decider. Indian duo of Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna won the set 6-5 (7-2) to win the match.
Japan Warriors' third consecutive win against UAE Royals
UAE Royals had to face another loss, this time from the hands of Japan Warriors. In the first match of the Indian leg, the Warriors defeated Royals 25-20, winning four of the five sets.
Singapore defeat Japan Warriors; enter finals
Singapore Slammers won a one sided match against Japan Warriors to reach the finals of the 2016 IPTL. The Slammers won the match 30-20 by winning all the sets. Japan and Singapore had won four of their eight matches, but Singapore had a upper hand in the number of games won which took them to the finals.
Aces hold a upper hand against the Slammers
Indian Aces and Singapore Slammers have played three matches in the 2016 edition of IPTL, with the Aces winning all the three matches. Both Slammers and Aces have lifted the IPTL title once in the previous two editions.
