India hand Malaysia first loss as Rupinder shines again
Malaysia's winning run at the 2016 Asian Champions Trophy hockey tournament was halted by India with a 1-2 loss. Rupinder Pal Singh once again emerged as the hero of the match after scoring both the goals for India; first in 12th minute and second in 58th minute. Rupinder is leading goal scorer of the tournament with 10 goals.

South Korea beat Japan 4-3; secured semis spot
South Korea secured their place in the semi-finals after they beat Japan 4-3, with captain Jung Manjae scoring two goals in the match. The 49th minute goal by the Korean captain helped them win after both the teams were tied at 3-3. Japan finished their campaign without winning a single game despite putting a good show in the last two matches.
India finished on the top spot after league matches
India finished their league campaign on the top spot of the table after a win over the host team, Malaysia. India have 13 points from five encounters. Malaysia is on second position with nine points and one more match to go. Having secured their place in the semi-finals, Korea is on the third place, followed by Pakistan, China and Japan.
