Europa League- ManU defeat Ajax to win the title
Manchester United outclassed Ajax Amsterdam in Sweden to win the 2017 Europa League. ManU won the match 2-0, thanks to the goals scored by Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Pogba netted the first goal in the 18th minute, while Mkhitaryan's goal came in the 48th minute of the game. With this win, Manchester secured their maiden Europa League title.
A minute of silence for Manchester victims
Before the game started, a minute of silence was observed in remembrance of the victims of Monday's terror attack in Manchester, which claimed 22 lives. The silence turned into a roaring applause with chants of "Manchester" and "We'll Never Die" filling the stadium.
Mourinho creates history
Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho wrote his name in history as he guided Manchester United to the Europa League title. He became the first manager to win the Champions League and the Europa League title for his team more than once. Mourinho had last lifted the UEFA Cup (now known as the Europa League) in 2002-03 in his stint with Porto.
Manchester back into the Champions League
With the Europa League title to their name, Manchester United have secured their position in next years' Champions League's group stage.
