Champions League- Real Madrid to meet Juventus at Cardiff
Real Madrid will face Juventus in the finals of 2016-17 Champions League at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on 03 June. Juventus have remained unbeaten in the tournament, while Real faced their first loss in the second leg of the semi-finals. It will be a repeat of the 1998 finals, when Madrid had defeated Juventus to win the cup after a gap of 32-years.
Juventus goes past Monaco to enter Champions League's finals
Juventus FC defeated Monaco 2-1 in the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals to enter the finals with an aggregate score of 4-1. After an away 2-0 win, Mario Mandzukic and Dani Alves scored a goal each in the second semi-final at home to guide the Italian club to the finals. The two time champions had lost the finals against Barcelona in 2015.
Last title win in 1996
Juventus FC had won the last Champions League title 21 years ago, in 1996. Since then the Serie A club has reached the finals four times, every time ending up as the runners up.
Real Madrid book their ticket to Cardiff
11-time champions Real Madrid stormed into the finals even after a 1-2 away loss against Atletico Madrid in the second leg of semi-final. Real registered a 4-2 victory over two legs, thanks to Isco's 42nd minute strike. It was his first goal in the tournament after 30 goal-less games. It is the fourth time that Real have eliminated Atletico from the tournament.
Real will look for the 12th title
Having reached the finals third time in four years, defending champions Real Madrid are on a hunt for their 12th title. It will be their second final under Zinedine Zidane, who had joined in January last year.
