Mumbai to meet Gujarat in Ranji Trophy finals
Defending champions and 41 time winners Mumbai will be up against Gujarat in the finals of 2016-17 Ranji Trophy from 10 January at the Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore. While this would be the 46th final for Mumbai, Gujarat will be playing in its second final in the 83-year history of the tournament. Earlier, group match between Gujarat and Mumbai had ended in a draw.

The first semi-finals clash took place between Mumbai and Tamil Nadu at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. Playing in their first Ranji semi-final match, Jharkhand were up against Gujarat at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground in Nagpur in the second semi-final clash.
Bhumrah, RP Singh take Gujarat into finals
Jaspreet Bhumrah's six wickets in second innings and R P Singh's three took Gujarat in the finals of 2016-17 Ranji Trophy. Gujarat had put up a target of 235 runs for Jharkhand, but were bowled out for a mere 111 runs, losing by 123 runs. Bhumrah was named the 'Man of the Match' for his seven wickets in the match.
First Ranji finals for Gujarat team after 1950
Before this year, it was way back in the 1950-51 season that Gujarat team had reached the finals of Ranji Trophy. Gujarat had lost the finals by 189 runs.
Prithvi Shaw slams ton on debut; Mumbai in Ranji finals
17-year old debutant Prithvi Shaw's 120 in the second innings took Mumbai to yet another finals of Ranji Trophy. Chasing a target of 251 runs, it took just 62.1 overs to achieve the target. Shaw scored 120 slamming 13 fours and one sixer. Earlier Baba Indrajith and Abhinav Mukund scored 138 and 122 runs respectively for Tamil Nadu in the second innings.
