Hockey- India defeat Pakistan 7-1 in Hockey World League
The Indian hockey team defeated Pakistan 7-1 in the Group B match of 2016-17 Men's FIH Hockey World League Semifinals. With Harmanpreet Singh scoring the first goal in 13th minute followed by Talwinder Singh's two goals in 21st and 24th minute gave India 3-0 lead at half-time. Harmanpreet again struck in 33rd minute, before Akashdeep Singh scored twice and Pradeep Mor scored one goal.
FIH Hockey World League Semi-Finals
The Hockey World League Semi-Finals is the third round of the Hockey World League. 2016-17 edition is taking place in London, with 10 teams participating for a place in the finals. The tournament also serves as the qualifiers for the 2018 Men's Hockey World Cup. It London, India, Pakistan, Argentina, England, Netherlands, China, South Korea, Malaysia, Canada and Scotland are fighting for the finals.
India's performance till now
India are placed in the Group B, along with Canada, Scotland, Pakistan and Netherlands. In their opening game against Scotland, India won the match 4-1, with Ramandeep Singh scoring two goals. India defeated Canada 3-0 in the second game, and are well ahead of the other teams to secure their place in the next round of the tournament.

Placed first on the points table, India will meet a rather strong team of Netherlands in their next match on 20 June 2017.
