His performance remains the best by an Indian bowler in the World Cup.
Nehra's effort against England helped India win big
Nehra picked up 6/23 against England to hand India a stellar victory Batting first, the Sourav Ganguly-led side managed 250/9. Nehra then took off and was unplayable. His brilliance handed India a 82-run victory after England were bundled for 168. Nehra bowled two maidens in his 10-over spell. He ripped apart the entire middle order and left the opposition speechless.

Nehra stole the show in Durban
It was a night to remember after Nehra was introduced by Ganguly in the 13th over. At that moment, England were two down for 28 and required another 223 from 228 balls. When Nehra's 10-over spell ended, England were reeling at 107/8. He was unstoppable in between. Nehra extracted the maximum from the wicket in Durban. His swing drew England batsmen to make mistakes.
Indian pace quartet delivered in the 2003 edition
Nehra scripted the sixth best bowling performance in an innings in the World Cup. The pacer took a total of 15 wickets from nine matches in the coveted event. His economy-rate of 4.17 was a telling aspect. In this edition, Nehra was the third most successful bowler for India after Zaheer Khan (18) and Javagal Srinath (16). The trio took 49 wickets between them.
Nehra ended his career with 157 ODI scalps
India managed to reach the final in the 2003 World Cup, but they faced defeat at the hands of Australia. Nehra on the other hand, ended his career with 157 wickets from 120 ODIs. He also featured in 17 Tests and 27 T20Is.
