Jason Roy's 180 breaks several records
Jason Roy's 180 is now the highest score for England in ODI cricket. It is also the second highest individual score in ODIs in and against Australia. Jason Roy's 32-ball fifty is the quickest for England against Australia in ODIs. The previous best was 34 ball fifties by Jason Roy in 2015 and Jos Buttler in 2014.
England are quite successful in chasing big targets
England chased down a record 305 at the MCG, the highest ever successful chase in the ground in an ODI. The earlier best was 296 chased by Australia against India in 2016. England have chased 7 successful 300 plus run targets, five of them have come since the 2015 Cricket World Cup.
Jason Roy brings the smiles back
Roy's 180 is the highest individual score at the Melbourne Cricket ground. Previous best was Mark Waugh's 173. England were off to a fantastic start reaching the 50-run mark in just 4.2 overs, their quickest in ODIs since 2002. Their previous fastest was in 4.4 overs against India in Southampton in 2011.
