New records set at Youth Athletics Championships
What's the story
The 15th National Youth Athletics Championships, being held at Vadodara, saw new records being set on its final day.
Dhanvir Singh, from Punjab, scripted a new record in shot put.
It was followed by Vishnu Priya notching a record in 400 meter hurdles.
Both youngsters won gold medals at the event.

Record
Shot put: Dhanvir scripts record in 5th attempt
The Punjab athlete, Dhanvir Singh, scripted a record in the 5th attempt by throwing 19.69 meters.
The previous record was set by set by Navtejdeep Singh in 2011, when he had thrown 19.34 meters.
Uttarakhand duo of Adish Ghildiyal and Aniket Kala won the silver and bronze medal respectively with efforts of 18.23 and 17.98 meters.

Priya sets a new record in 400 meter hurdles
Kerala's Priya broke the women's 400 meter hurdles record after she clocked 1:02.52 seconds.
The previous meet record was scripted by PO Sanya in 2015, when she had set a time of 1:02.58 seconds.
Karnataka's K Prajna won the silver medal with 1:05.08 seconds.
The bronze went to Odisha's Jyoshna Sabar, who clocked 1:05.82 seconds.

Dhanvir and 100 meter hurdles gold medalist Aparna Roy were declared as 'best athletes' of the meet. Haryana won the team championships title with 165 points. Kerala came second with 150.
