Eoin Morgan scripted a special milestone in T20Is after making his 100th appearance in the format. Morgan was close to tears on the special occasion
Morgan said he was close to tears as team-mate Jos Buttler presented him with a special cap. "His words warmed my heart and I'm very grateful for that," said Morgan. "It nearly brought me to tears. It meant a huge amount. He's a great friend of mine. Our families are quite close. Playing in 100 games is a really proud moment for me."
Morgan becomes the fourth player with most T20I appearances
Morgan became the first Englishman and only the fourth player to have made 100 T20I appearances. He joins the likes of Shoiab Malik (116), Rohit Sharma (109), and Ross Taylor (102).
Morgan has a superb record as captain in T20Is
Morgan has led the England cricket team in 57 T20Is so far. He has 33 wins under his belt, besides losing 21. Two matches ended in a tie with one game not having a result. Notably, Morgan has a win percentage of 60.71 and is England's most successful skipper in the format (minimum 30 games).
How did the third T20I pan out?
India were off to a dismal start and managed 24/3 in the first six overs. From there on Virat Kohli (77*) helped India amass 156/6. England were clinical with the ball and the pacers excelled once again. In reply, England lost Jason Roy early on but Buttler made sure the visitors got the job done. He struck a career-best 83*.

Morgan has featured in 100 T20Is so far, accumulating 2,306 runs at 30.34. He is the leading run-scorer for England. Morgan has 14 fifties with a best of 91. He has also smashed 176 fours and 113 sixes. He is the seventh-highest scorer in T20Is. Notably, he is the second-highest scorer for England in ICC Men's T20 World Cup (484).
