YouTube TV's Multiview feature now available on Android devices
YouTube TV has extended its Multiview feature to Android phones and tablets, following a successful launch on iOS devices last month. Initially previewed in March 2023, for smart TVs and streaming devices, the feature was gradually rolled out with a focus on NFL Sunday Ticket. The grid view function, allowing users to watch up to four live-streams simultaneously, was officially launched on iPhone and iPad a year later. Google confirmed that Android subscribers can expect this feature today.
How to use Multiview feature?
Despite its limited availability when announced for TVs earlier this year, Multiview does not necessitate high-powered equipment. This is due to heavy processing being managed by YouTube's servers, making it accessible on any device. To use Multiview on Android, users need to navigate to the "Home" tab and select a stream to listen to by tapping it; their choice will be highlighted in white. Users must have the latest YouTube TV version (8.17) for Android, installed to utilize this feature.
How does 'Last Channel Shortcut' work?
YouTube TV recently debuted its "Last Channel Shortcut" feature, making it simpler for users to switch between channels being watched. Now, YouTube TV emulates traditional TV experiences, where a shortcut button permits viewers to seamlessly flip between the most recently-watched channels.
