You can now share your YouTube channels using QR codes
YouTube has introduced a new feature that allows users to share their channels via QR codes. This facility is available on both Android and iOS platforms, and can be accessed through the "You" tab. Users simply need to scroll through the carousel under their handle until they find the "Share channel" option. The platform's share sheet now includes a "QR code" option besides existing ones like Copy Link, Quick Share, and Other Apps.
How to share the codes?
Upon selecting the "QR code" option, users are directed to a fullscreen page that displays their channel name and handle. The channel's logo is prominently placed at the center of the QR code, with a YouTube logo beneath it. This design mirrors Chrome's QR code share feature which also places an icon at its center. Users can either take a screenshot or choose "Save to camera roll" to store just the QR code for future use.
A step toward user convenience
The new feature is particularly useful for those who wish to share their channels in physical spaces. Meanwhile, users can access the QR code of any channel by tapping the three-dot menu on a channel page, selecting Share, and then choosing QR Code. This update aims to simplify the process of sharing channels with potential viewers.
