Redmi Note 5, Pro launched at starting-price of Rs. 9,999
Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro in their first product launch of the year in India. The Mi TV 4 is debuting too. The Note 5 and the Note 5 Pro, successors to the Note 4, are being released at Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 13,999 respectively. The Mi TV 4 will cost Rs. 39,999. Check out Xiaomi's latest products.
All about the Redmi Note 5
The Note 5 comes with a 5.99-inch display, 12MP primary camera and 5MP secondary camera. It runs on the latest MIUI 9 and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and a 4000 mAh battery. The biggest changes are the bezel-less design, the 18:9 aspect ratio and larger display. It will be available in Black, Lake Blue, Gold and Rose Gold.
The Note 5 Pro is a notch above Note 5
The Note 5 Pro has advanced camera features and a more appealing design than the Note 5. It's the first Xiaomi phone to get 'Face Unlock' and dual cameras, with a 20MP selfie camera. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC. Most other features are similar to the Note 5. The Note 5 Pro will also come in the same four colors.
Special accessories for India users
For Note 5, the 3G RAM+32GB internal storage variant will cost Rs. 9,999, while the 4GB RAM+64GB internal storage will go for Rs. 11,999. For Note 5 Pro, the 4GB RAM+64GB storage will sell for Rs. 13,999, and the 6GB RAM+64GBstorage variant will cost Rs. 16,999. Indian subscribers will get a specially-designed charger and a free transparent silicon case.
From when and where can you buy these phones?
Both the smartphones will go on sale from February 22 on Mi.com and Flipkart (online) and retail Mi Home stores (offline). They will also be available at other retailers "very soon," the company said. With Jio, you can get cashback of Rs. 2,200.
Biggest launch of the day: the Mi TV 4
The biggest launch of the day was the Mi TV 4. India is the first country to get it outside China. It is just 4.9mm thick, with a 55-inch 4K display, frameless design, integrated Mi TV Bar with 10 speakers, two wireless rear satellite speakers and a subwoofer. The upgradable TV supports Dolby Atmos technology and has added an AI-based UI called PatchWall.
80% of the content to be free
With Mi TV 4, 80% of the content will be free, including from Hotstar, The Viral Fever, Sony Liv, Hungama Play, Zee 5, ALT Balaji, Voot and more. The 'transparent' stand will make the TV look like its floating in the air.
Price, offers and release date for the Mi TV 4
The Mi TV 4 has been priced at Rs. 39,999. The Mi IR cable costs Rs. 299, but buyers will get this and three-month subscriptions for Sony Liv and Hungama Play worth Rs. 619 for free. Installation costing Rs. 1,099 will also be free for the first three months. It will go on sale from February 22 on the same platforms.
