Xiaomi to soon launch selfie-centric Mi CC9 smartphones
Xiaomi is reportedly working to launch two new selfie-focused smartphones in China soon. Dubbed as Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e, the two handsets will leverage the expertise of Meitu - a popular selfie app company that was acquired by Xiaomi last year. Notably, a tipster has also leaked the alleged specs and prices of these upcoming phones. Here's our roundup.
Mi CC9: At a glance
According to the leak, the Mi CC9 will come with a waterdrop notched display and the trendy in-screen fingerprint sensor. It is said to be powered by a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset, coupled with upto 8GB of RAM and upto 256GB of internal storage. Under the hood, the phone is likely to house a 4,000mAh battery with support for 27W fast charging.
Here's what to expect from Mi CC9e
The Mi CC9e will arrive as a stripped down variant of the Mi CC9, featuring a waterdrop notched display and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The leak claims that the phone will be backed by a Snapdragon 710 processor, paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It is also said to offer a 4,000mAh with 18W fast charging support and NFC.
Both phones will offer 32MP selfie snapper, 48MP rear camera
According to the leak, both the Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e will offer a 32MP selfie camera and a 48MP main sensor on the rear camera. That said, there is no information available regarding the other sensors of the main camera.

According to the leak, the Mi CC9e will cost CNY 1,599 (roughly Rs. 16,000) for the solo 6GB/64GB model. Similarly, the Mi CC9 will be priced at CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs. 25,100) for the base-end 6GB/128GB model, CNY 2,799 (roughly Rs. 28,100) for the mid-end 8GB/128GB variant, and CNY 3,099 (roughly Rs. 31,100) for the top-end 8GB/256GB configuration.
