Xiaomi to launch the Mi 6X smartphone on April 15
Xiaomi has sent out invites for a launch event on April 15 in China, where it is expected to launch the Mi 6X smartphone. The Mi 5X was launched in China in July last year but it came to India in September 2017 as the Mi A1. This time too, the Mi 6X is expected to eventually come to India as the Mi A2.
Mi 6X will run stock Android OS as Mi A2
While the Mi 5X runs the Android-based MIUI OS, the Mi A1 runs stock Android under Google's Android One program. This is the reason the smartphone got a shift in branding in select markets. This is expected to happen to the Mi 6X as well.

Mi 6X to have dual rear camera setup
According to reports, the Xiaomi Mi 6X will sport a 5.99-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of inbuilt storage, and 2,910mAh battery. It will be powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 626 processor. The smartphone is expected to have a dual rear camera setup with 20MP and 8MP sensors, and a 20MP front camera.
Xiaomi to launch Mi Max 3, Mi 7 this year
The Mi 6X will bear a fingerprint sensor below the rear cameras and is not likely to come with a notch design. It will launch with the MIUI 9 OS, but will switch to stock Android OS when it sells as the Mi A2 in India. Xiaomi will also reportedly launch the Mi Max 3 and the Mi 7 smartphones this year.
