    What's the story

Xiaomi has launched a WhatsApp-based subscription service in India called Mi Bunny.

The service will enable users to keep abreast of all things Xiaomi, including instant updates, news, product launches, product deals, weekly MIUI updates, sale reminders, and Mi fan meet-ups through WhatsApp.

For this, the Chinese phone maker has rightly leveraged WhatsApp's recently launched WhatsApp Business platform.

    Information

Here is how to subscribe to the service

To subscribe to the free service, Xiaomi users need to SMS "Xiaomi" to +91-7760944500, which will allow them to interact with the Xiaomi Mi Bunny. Once subscribed, users will receive a welcome message followed by future Mi events, if any, in their city.

    Details

The service is currently being beta-tested

The Mi Bunny service only supports the aforementioned features. Once the service successfully passes beta testing, Xiaomi plans to roll out more functionalities over time on the platform for its users.

The company has also gone out of its way to explicitly declare no user details, that it will procure through the subscription service, will be made accessible to third-party service providers.

    Information

Users can also raise support requests through Mi Bunny

Through Xiaomi Mi Bunny, users can also raise support requests and subsequently get notified about its status. For raising customer support requests, they will need to send "Support" on to +91-7760944500. This will lead to a set of on-screen instructions for the user to follow.
