Xiaomi's new charger can charge your phone in 17 minutes
While the camera and design aspects continue to dominate most of the conversation around smartphones, charging technology seldom gets the limelight. However, this time, Xiaomi's fast charging technology is taking center stage. Everything to know about Xiaomi's 100W charger
In a Weibo post, Xiaomi CEO Lin Bin has shown off its 100W Super Charge technology competing against OPPO's Super VOOC Flash Charge. While OPPO's 50W charging technology juiced up a 3,700mAh phone to 65% in 17 minutes, Xiaomi's 100W charging technology managed to fully charge a 4,000mAh battery in the same time - possibly a new record in smartphone-related fast charging technology.
Xiaomi's charging tech convincingly beats its competitors
Talking of fast charging technology, Huawei currently tops the charts with its 55W SuperCharge technology on Mate X. Then there is OPPO's 50W Super VOOC Flash Charge, Honor's 40W charging tech and OnePlus' 30W Warp Charge 30. Samsung and Apple's latest flagships offer 15W fast charging while Google's Pixel 3 phones support 18W charging. Clearly, Xiaomi's fast charging tech is the new benchmark.
