Redmi's upcoming "flagship killer" will be called K20
Xiaomi's Redmi sub-brand is working to launch a new flagship device that will be pitted against OPPO Reno and OnePlus 7-series in the mid-premium segment. Recently, an official teaser confirmed that the device will feature a pop-up selfie camera and flagship-grade internals. And now, the company has announced that this upcoming phone will be called Redmi K20 wherein "K" stands for "Killer". Here's more.

As per the recent teaser video, the Redmi K20 phone will feature a pop-up selfie camera design - similar to OnePlus 7 Pro and a bunch of other elevating camera smartphones. Evidently, this design will allow for an edge-to-edge screen with no obtrusive punch holes or notches. Moreover, rumors suggest that the phone will offer a 6.39-inch display with a full-HD+ resolution.
Some of the known features of Redmi K20
Redmi's general manager Lu Weibing recently teased some of the key features of the Redmi K20. The screenshot shared by Lu confirmed that the phone will sport an in-display fingerprint battery and that it will offer upto two days of battery life on a single charge. Reportedly, the K20 will house a 4,000mAh battery with software-based optimizations for extended battery life.
Redmi K20 tipped to offer a 48MP triple-lens rear camera
According to a leak, the upcoming Redmi K20 will sport a triple-lens camera comprising a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP secondary sensor, and another 13MP sensor - similar to Xiaomi's MI 9 SE. Up front, it is rumored to house a 32MP selfie snapper.
What about other specifications
The upcoming Redmi flagship is already confirmed to be powered by Qualcomm's top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855 chipset. Moreover, rumors also point towards 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage on the Redmi K20. A leak also claims that Redmi will launch a Pro model of the phone, and we expect this model to come with higher RAM and storage.
