Xiaomi's Android One-powered Mi A2 receives Android Pie update
Xiaomi has started rolling out Android Pie update for its Android One-powered Mi A2 smartphone. The latest firmware is being pushed in a phased manner and all users should get it in a few days. The update comes with all Android Pie features such as Adaptive Battery, new gesture navigation, app actions, app timer, and adaptive brightness. Here's everything to know.

What's new in the update?
The latest update brings all the stock Android Pie features. Hence, with this update, Mi A2 will get gesture-based navigation, adaptive battery, adaptive brightness, an improved Do Not Disturb mode, simplified volume controls, and revamped notifications panel. Moreover, the update will bring App Actions, Slices, Digital well-being, new screenshot shortcut, 157 new emojis, and multiple camera support among other new features and changes.
Mi A2: At a glance
To recall, Mi A2 features a 5.99-inch full-HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by Snapdragon 660 processor with AI engine, paired with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage. The phone supports dual SIM (Nano) cards, runs stock Android Oreo 8.1, and packs a 3,010mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
The Mi A2 gets a dual camera setup with 12MP+20MP Sony sensors and an aperture of f/1.75, phase-detection autofocus and dual-tone LED flash. Up front, the phone gets a 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor with f/1.75 aperture, fixed focal length, and LED flash. Both the front and rear cameras support several AI-powered features such as Scene Recognition, Portrait Mode, Background Bokeh, and Smart Beauty 4.0.
Mi A2 does not come with a headphone jack
Connectivity options on Mi A2 include 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi802.11a/c, Miracast, IR emitter, and USB Type-C. Sensors on board the phone include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Notably, the phone doesn't have a headphone jack.
