Xiaomi's selfie-focused Redmi Y2 will be Amazon exclusive in India
As the India variant of its selfie-focused Redmi S2 smartphone, Xiaomi is expected to launch the Redmi Y2 on June 7. E-commerce giant Amazon has already listed a page for the new Xiaomi smartphone launch, suggesting that the Y2 will be Amazon exclusive. With selfie-centric features and a dedicated selfie light, the Redmi Y2 will succeed last year's Redmi Y1. Here's our roundup.

Redmi Y2 is expected to come with the same specifications as the Redmi S2. Hence, it may support dual-SIM (Nano) cards, run Android-based MIUI 9 and sport a 5.99-inch HD+ (720x1440 pixels) display with 70.8% NTSC color gamut. Moreover, the Redmi Y2 is likely to get a Snapdragon 625 processor, paired with up to 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB inbuilt storage (expandable up to 256GB).
Like the S2, the Redmi Y2 will offer selife-centric features
The Redmi Y2 is expected to sport a dual rear camera setup comprising a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front, it will offer a 16-megapixel sensor which will support features such as artificial intelligence-based Portrait Mode and Smart Beauty. The front camera will also support HDR, Face Unlock and will feature a soft light flash module.
The Redmi Y2 will enter the mid-range smartphone segment
In China, the Xiaomi Redmi S2 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant is priced at around Rs. 10,600, while the 4GB RAM/64GB variant costs Rs. 13,700. Hence, the Redmi Y2 will enter the sub-Rs. 15,000 segment in India. Moreover, like the S2, the Y2 may offer 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and pack a 3,080mAh battery.
