Xiaomi launches a new fitness band at just Rs. 1,000

As the latest addition to its range of wearables, Xiaomi has launched a new Redmi Band in China.
It comes with a color display, replaceable bands, and offers a host of health-related features such as real-time heart rate monitoring and activity tracking.
The fitness band has been introduced via a crowdfunding campaign at just 95 yuan which is roughly Rs. 1,000 in India.

The Redmi Band looks like any other entry-level fitness tracker you can find in the market. It has a 1.08-inch color display and silicon straps that come in orange, black, dark blue, and olive green colors.
The company has also offered a vast base of over 70 different watch faces that a user can select.

The Redmi Band has a built-in optical sensor for real-time heart-rate monitoring. It also supports sleep tracking, steps count, and activity modes like cycling, running, and walking.

The Redmi Band offers a battery life of 14 days on a single charge. It comes with a simple plug-and-charge USB Type-A connector, for recharging and data syncing.
The wearable can connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth and is compatible with all the handsets running relatively recent version of Android OS.

Pricing and availability
In China, the Redmi Band is priced at 99 yuan (Rs. 1,100). However, as part of the crowdfunding campaign, the band will be available at 95 yuan (Rs. 1,000) starting from April 9. As for global availability, the company is yet to reveal those details.
