About Samsung's ISOCELL Bright GW1 64MP sensor
The Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor was unveiled in May this year as the world's first 64MP camera sensor. Measuring at 1/1.72 inches, it is the largest-ever mobile camera sensor. The GW1 sensor also uses 0.8-micrometer pixels and offers a total resolution of 64 megapixels.
What are the features of Samsung's ISOCELL Bright GW1
Samsung's ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor uses "pixel-merging Tetracell technology and remosaic algorithm" to produce bright 16MP images with 1.6µm pixels in low-light environments and highly-detailed 64MP shots in brighter settings as the larger sensor lets in more light. The new sensor also supports real-time high dynamic range (HDR) of up to 100dB (standard sensors support 60dB HDR) and 1080p video recording at 480fps.
Xiaomi has also teased to launch 108MP Mi camera phone
Alongside unveiling the technology behind the 64MP sensor, Xiaomi has also confirmed to soon launch an Mi phone that'll use a whopping 108MP Samsung ISOCELL sensor. This sensor is said to produce images with a mind-boggling resolution of 12,032 x 9,024 pixels.
