Xiaomi has launched a new handset, the Redmi 10C, in Nigeria. It starts at NGN 78,000 (around Rs. 14,400) for the 4GB/64GB model. Although the company has shared pictures of the phone on Twitter revealing its price, it is yet to be listed on the official site. The smartphone maker has confirmed that it is available for sale via certain retail stores in Nigeria.
Why does this story matter?
The Redmi 10C is the latest addition to the Xiaomi sub-brand's portfolio of budget-range handsets. Although we expected the phone to be offered first in Europe, the company surprised us by launching it in Nigeria first. The 10C is important to Indians as rumors suggest the upcoming Redmi 10, which debuts on March 17, is a rebranded version of the 10C.
The handset is available in three shades
The Redmi 10C features a waterdrop notch design with a noticeable bottom bezel and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It sports a textured rear panel with a square-ish camera unit. The handset bears a 6.71-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 20:9. It is offered in Blue, Black, and Green color options.
It flaunts a 50MP main camera
The Redmi 10C is equipped with a dual rear camera module, including a 50MP main shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. Up front, it sports a single selfie camera.
It boots MIUI based on Android 11
The Redmi 10C is powered by a Snapdragon 680 chipset, coupled with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. Under the hood, it runs on Android 11-based MIUI and packs a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support, In terms of connectivity, it offers support for 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a Type-C port.

The Redmi 10C is priced at NGN 78,000 (around Rs. 14,400) for the 4GB/64GB model and carries a price-tag of NGN 87,000 (roughly 16,100) for the 4GB/128GB variant. It is available for purchase in Nigeria via select retail stores.
