Xiaomi Redmi S2: Launch, Specs and Features
Xiaomi is working on Redmi S2 - a budget smartphone that the company might release in both China and India, according to a report from XDA Developers. The report has also revealed the key specifications of the smartphone such as the presence of a dual rear-camera setup and face unlock feature. Here's our Redmi S2 roundup.
The Redmi S2 will feature a dual-camera setup
The USP of this smartphone will be its dual-lens camera setup. Reports suggest it will either sport a 12MP Sony IMX486 or 12MP OmniVision OV12A10 primary sensor paired with a 5MP Samsung S5K5E8 secondary sensor. The front camera could also get the same 5MP Samsung sensor. Notably, the Redmi S2 will also feature a portrait mode and will support face unlock as well.
Redmi S2: A budget smartphone with Snapdragon 625 SoC
According to the report, the Redmi S2 will feature a 18:9 HD+ (1440×720p) display. However, the size of the display is not known as of now. The phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 625 SoC processor paired with 3GB or 4GB RAM variants. There isn't much information about the storage option but the report talks about a 16GB variant with microSD card support.

The report did highlight some of the key features and specs of the Redmi S2 and we expect more leaks in the coming days. Further, the phone is expected to come with a 3,080mAh battery and will run Android Oreo out-of-the-box.
