    What's the story

Xiaomi's recently-launched 55-inch Mi TV 4X model, which comes as a cheaper alternative to the OnePlus TV and a capable rival to the Motorola TV, has gone on sale in India.

The Android TV-based 4K television can be purchased via Amazon.in and Mi.com online as well as from Mi Home offline stores.

    Here are more details.

    Design and display

    Mi TV 4X 55: At a glance

Right of the bat, the 55-inch Mi TV 4X looks like any other Xiaomi smart television with a slim metal frame, non-curved screen, and a 4K HDR10-certified display that is backed by the company's in-house image processing Vivid Picture Engine technology.

For audio, the premium television gets 20W speakers with support for Dolby Atmos as well as DTS-HD technologies.

    Internals

    Under the hood

The Mi TV 4X 55-inch model is powered by quad-core Amlogic Cortex A53 CPU, paired with Mali 450 GPU, 2GB RAM and 8GB of built-in storage.

Under the hood, it runs on Android TV 9-based PatchWall 2.0 UI, bringing features such as Chromecast, Google Assistant, Play Store (for apps and games) and Google Data Saver to manage your internet consumption.

    Nitty-gritty

The TV also supports all the latest apps

This Mi TV 4X variant packs the latest I/O ports including three HDMI ports, two USB ports, an ethernet socket, and another audio port.

It also supports dual-band Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth4.2 and comes with several pre-installed apps such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, Hotstar, Sony LIV, and others.

The new PatchWall UI also brings a new Light Theme.

    Information

    Finally, what is the pricing?

The Mi TV 4X 55-inch is priced at Rs. 34,999, which is Rs. 35,000 cheaper than the OnePlus TV (Q1 model) and Rs. 5,000 less than the Motorola's offering.
