Xiaomi Mi Play official images reveal design and key features
Xiaomi is working to launch its latest Mi Play smartphone in China on December 24. And just hours ahead of the launch, Xiaomi President Lin Bin has posted some images, revealing the design and key features of the phone. Moreover, rumors suggest Mi Play will be introduced as Redmi Note 7 Pro in other markets. Here's everything we know so far.
Mi Play: At a glance
According to leaks and previous teasers, we know the phone will feature a waterdrop-like notched display which has been popularized by OPPO and Vivo. On the back, Mi Play will get a glass-like reflective finish with gradient design and fingerprint sensor. Further, another leak suggests there will be Black, Dream Blue, and Dawn Gold color options with the last two sporting gradient colors.
Mi Play to come with a dual rear-camera setup
As seen in the images posted by Lin Bin, the Mi Play will feature a vertically-stacked dual rear-camera setup, paired with an LED flash module. In terms of optics, the camera setup will comprise a 12MP main sensor, paired with a second depth sensor. Up front, the phone is expected to sport an 8MP camera that will be housed in the waterdrop notch.
Mi Play: Here's how the specsheet might look like
The phone is expected to feature a 5.84-inch display with full HD+ resolution and run on an octa-core Qualcomm processor that is clocked at 2.3 GHz. Under the hood, the phone is said to pack a 2,900mAh battery. Further, a previous leak revealed that Mi Play will come in three variants - 4GB RAM/64GB storage, 6GB RAM/64GB storage, and 6GB RAM/128GB storage.
Mi Play will be optimized for mobile gaming
Going by the name, Mi Play will be a budget range smartphone aimed at offering smooth gaming experience. We can expect Xiaomi to offer some sort of a gaming mode to boost graphics, audio, and display for popular games like PUBG mobile and Fortnite.
