Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S leak hints at iPhone X-like gestures
According to reports, a leaked video reveals that Xiaomi's Mi Mix 2S could come with gesture support. The video reveals an app switcher interface when swiped from the bottom edge of the phone - much like the iPhone X. NewsBytes couldn't confirm the authenticity of the video but given the reports and rumor-mill, here's what we know about the Mi Mix 2S.
What we know so far
According to XDA developers, the successor to the trendsetter bezel-less Mi Mix 2, the Mi Mix 2S is real and in the works. The device is likely to be powered by Snapdragon 845 processor - Qualcomm's fastest chipset to date. The phone is expected to sport a 5.99-inch FHD+ (2160 x 1080) display with 18:9 aspect ratio and a 12MP rear dual-camera set up.
The Essentials
Mi Mix 2S is expected to run Android Oreo and may feature 8GB RAM and 256GB UFS (Universal Flash Storage) inbuilt storage along with support for global 4G LTE bands. Some reports have also hinted that the phone may come with a virtual fingerprint sensor embedded in the front-screen, much like Vivo's smartphone and likely to retain the 3,400 mAh battery seen in its predecessor.
Xiaomi's flagship killer
Xiaomi's earlier Mi Mix models did set a trend for the bezel-less display. Given the price-to-performance parameter, Mi Mix 2S will offer top-of-the-line specs and with an affordable price tag, this could just be the killer of all flagship smartphones. Though the price of Mi Mix 2S is still unknown, it will certainly be a cheaper alternative to the Samsung S9 and iPhone X.
