    What's the story

    Xiaomi has launched its Mi A3 smartphone as a follow up to last year's Android One-based Mi A2.

    The new handset arrives as a rebranded version of the company's camera-centric Mi CC9e with a waterdrop notched display, triple-lens rear camera, and mid-level internals.

    Presently, the Mi A3 has gone official in Spain and is expected to soon arrive in other markets.

    Mi A3: At a glance

    As a rebranded version of the Mi CC9e, the Mi A3 offers a waterdrop notched display with an all-glass body and gradient design on the rear.

    It features a 6.08-inch AMOLED display with an HD+ resolution of 1560 x 720 pixels, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

    Notably, for secure unlocking, the phone also gets an optical in-screen fingerprint sensor.

    The Mi A3 sports a triple rear camera setup comprising a 48MP (f/1.79) main lens, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and another 2MP lens for capturing depth details. Up front, the phone offers a 32MP selfie snapper.

    Under the hood

    The Mi A3 is powered by a Snapdragon 665 chipset, coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB of expandable storage.

    Under the hood, it packs a 4,000mAh battery and runs on stock Android Pie as part of Google's Android One program.

    Lastly, the phone offers all the latest connectivity options including 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11a/c, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, USB Type-C, and a headphone jack.

    Pricing and availability

    The Mi A3 has gone official in Spain where it costs 249 euros (Rs. 19,200) for the 64GB storage variant and EUR 279 (Rs. 21,500) for the 128GB storage option. It will be available for purchase starting July 24.

    The handset comes in "Not Just Blue", "More Than White", and "Kind of Gray" color options.
