Mi A3 India launch set for August 23: Report
As the successor to its Android One-based Mi A2, Chinese tech giant Xiaomi is working to launch the Mi A3 in India on August 23, according to Smartprix. The Mi A3 is the global variant of the Mi CC9e which was recently launched in China and is currently available in select European markets including Spain. Here's our roundup.
Mi A3: At a glance
Up front, the Mi A3 sports a waterdrop notched design with slim bezels on top and bottom. On the rear side, the gradient finished glass back houses vertically stacked triple rear cameras. Further, the phone comes with a 6.08-inch Super AMOLED display with HD+ (720 x 1560 pixels) resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, under-display fingerprint sensor, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
The Xiaomi Mi A3 packs a trio of sensors including a 48MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Up front, the phone sports a 32MP (f/2.0) selfie shooter housed in display cut-out. Furthermore, the rear camera supports 4K video recording at 30fps, while selfie camera can record 1080p videos at 30fps.
Under the hood
The Mi A3 is powered by a Snapdragon 665 processor, paired with 4GB RAM and upto 128GB of expandable storage. The handset runs on stock Android Pie and is backed by a solid 4,030mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. Furthermore, it offers all the latest connectivity options including support for dual-SIMs (Nano), VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm headphone jack.
Finally, what will be the pricing?
As for the pocket-pinch, the Mi A3 costs EUR 249 (approximately Rs. 19,200) for the 4GB/64GB variant and EUR 279 (approximately Rs. 21,500) for the 4GB/128GB model in select European markets. Hence, we expect the smartphone to arrive at a similar price in India.
