Xiaomi Mi A2 to be launched on August 8
Xiaomi's recently launched Android One smartphone, the Mi A2, will launch in India on August 8 and will be sold exclusively via Amazon, a listing by the e-commerce giant has confirmed. The key highlights of the phone are its AI-powered cameras, stock Android UI and the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor which comes with a dedicated AI engine. Here's everything to know.
Mi A2: At a glance
The Xiaomi Mi A2 features a 5.99-inch full-HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by Snapdragon 660 processor with AI engine, paired with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage. The phone supports dual SIM (Nano) cards, runs stock Android Oreo 8.1, and packs 3,010mAh battery which supports QuickCharge 3.0.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
The Mi A2 gets a dual camera setup with 12MP+20MP Sony sensors and an aperture of f/1.75, phase-detection autofocus and dual-tone LED flash. Up front, the phone gets a 20-MP Sony IMX376 sensor with f/1.75 aperture, fixed focal length, and LED flash. Both the front and rear cameras support several AI-powered features such as Scene Recognition, Portrait Mode, Background Bokeh, and Smart Beauty 4.0.
The Mi A2 does not come with a headphone jack
Connectivity options on Mi A2 include 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/c, Miracast, IR emitter, and USB Type-C. Sensors on board the phone include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone doesn't have a headphone jack.
Base variant of Mi A2 unlikely to arrive in India
The Mi A2 comes in three variants - the base model with 4GB RAM/32GB storage, the mid-end variant with 4GB RAM/64GB storage and the top-end 6GB RAM/128GB model. Notably, the mid and possibly the top variants of Mi A2 will be introduced in India. Further, a Rose Gold color option will also be available alongside the Gold, Black, and Blue colors.
