Xiaomi Mi A2 goes on sale today at 12pm
Xiaomi's recently launched Android One smartphone, the Mi A2, will go on sale today starting 12pm via Amazon, Mi e-store, Mi Home and Mi Preferred Partner stores. The key highlights of the phone are its AI-powered cameras, stock Android UI and the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with AI engine. Here's more about the Mi A2.
Price and Availability
The Mi A2 costs Rs. 16,999 for the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant. Xiaomi has also announced a 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant but it won't be available today. The phone is offered in Black, Gold, Lake Blue, and Rose Gold color options. In terms of offers, Jio is offering up to 4.5TB additional data and up to Rs. 2,200 as cashback.
What is Android One?
Android One, a Google initiative, was launched in 2014 with an aim to provide stock Android experience to mid-spec devices. Android One devices receive at least two of years of software upgrade and Google Play Protect along with latest Google AI innovations.
Mi A2: At a glance
The Xiaomi Mi A2 features a 5.99-inch full-HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by Snapdragon 660 processor with AI engine, paired with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage. The phone supports dual SIM (Nano) cards, runs stock Android Oreo 8.1, and packs 3,010mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0

The Mi A2 gets a dual camera setup with 12MP+20MP Sony sensors and an aperture of f/1.75, phase-detection autofocus and dual-tone LED flash. Up front, the phone gets a 20-MP Sony IMX376 sensor with f/1.75 aperture, fixed focal length, and LED flash. Both the front and rear cameras support several AI-powered features such as Scene Recognition, Portrait Mode, Background Bokeh, and Smart Beauty 4.0.
The Mi A2 does not come with a headphone jack
Connectivity options on Mi A2 include 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi802.11a/c, Miracast, IR emitter, and USB Type-C. Sensors on board the phone include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Notably, the phone doesn't have a headphone jack.
