Mi 9 could be the most advanced Xiaomi smartphone ever
If the current leak is anything to go by, Xiaomi's Mi 9, the successor to last year's Mi 8, could be the most-advanced Xiaomi flagship ever. According to a Weibo post, the phone will sport a triple rear-camera with a 48MP sensor, an in-display fingerprint sensor, top-end Snapdragon 855 chipset, and support 35W fast charging support. Here's a detailed look at Mi 9.
Xiaomi Mi 9 to sport a waterdrop notched display
According to the leak, the phone will come with a waterdrop-like notched display with a slim bottom bezel. This new design should offer more screen-to-body ratio than Mi 8 which featured an iPhone X-like notch. Moreover, the phone is tipped to sport a 6.4-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Mi 9 to sport triple rear-camera with 48MP main sensor
The post claims that the phone will come with a triple rear-camera setup comprising a 48MP Sony IMX586 main sensor, paired with a 12MP secondary sensor and a 3D Time of Flight sensor. Up front, it is said to pack a 24MP Sony IMX576 sensor.
Under the hood
The phone is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, paired with X24 LTE modem, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. However, we can expect premium variants with more memory and storage. Lastly, the Mi 9 is tipped to pack a 3,500mAh battery with 32W fast charging support and run Android Pie-based MIUI 9 out of the box.
Xiaomi Mi 9: Pricing and availability
The leak claims that Xiaomi Mi 9 will launch in China sometime in March, and will be priced at CNY 2,999 (approx. Rs. 30,400). Hence, we can expect official teasers at Mobile World Congress 2019 which starts on February 25.
