Xiaomi's flagship Mi 8 might have an in-display fingerprint sensor
Xiaomi is expected to launch its 2018 flagship smartphone at an event scheduled for May 31 in China. The phone, which is being dubbed as Mi 8, will be a successor to Mi 6 launched last year. In the latest leak, a video has surfaced online which shows an Mi 8 phone with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Here's more.
This short video drops a major hint
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun had earlier hinted that the company's next flagship may have an in-display fingerprint sensor. Now, this rather short video reveals Mi 8 which houses in-display fingerprint reader and upon unlocking, one can spot an MIUI user-interface and Mi Video App.
What else do we know about Mi 8
As per reports, the Mi 8 will be the first Android smartphone to feature 3D facial recognition unlocking feature - a technology that Apple uses on iPhone X called Face ID. Moreover, the Xiaomi flagship will come with the Snapdragon 845 processor, up to 8GB RAM, 64GB of storage, and a 4,000mAh battery with support for wireless charging. It will run on Android Oreo-based MIUI 9.

Earlier reports had suggested that Xiaomi will skip its Mi 7 branding and instead call its upcoming flagship as Mi 8 to align the name with the company's 8th anniversary. Further, images of Mi 8 box package have also leaked online which also confirm the branding of Xiaomi's upcoming flagship.
