Mi 10 Pro beats heavyweights to top DxOMark camera ratings
Xiaomi's newly-launched Mi 10 Pro has beaten the likes of Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G, Honor V30 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max to top DxOMark's smartphone camera image quality rankings. The flagship handset has been adjudged as the best camera smartphone to date, with an outstanding score of 124 (overall), beating Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G by one point.
Understanding DxOMark and its ratings
DxOMark is a benchmarking website that tests different types of cameras, ranging from smartphones to professional cameras. For ratings, several industry-standard tests are conducted wherein 1,500+ images and 2+ hours of video are captured and examined in controlled lab environments and in natural indoor/outdoor scenes.

With good detail and well-balanced texture, accurate exposure and depth estimation, as well as good detail in bokeh mode and long-range zoom, the Mi 10 Pro has managed to receive the highest ever score of 134. Moreover, with a total video score of 104, the Xiaomi flagship became DxOMark's top-ranked handset for recording videos.

The Mi 10 Pro houses a quad-lens rear camera setup comprising a 108MP (f/1.7) main sensor, paired with 20MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle camera, 12MP short telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and an 8MP long telephoto lens with 10x hybrid zoom. On the front, it has a 20MP selfie snapper. The rear camera can record 8K video at 30fps and 4K at up to 60fps.

Alongside an impressive camera, the Mi 10 Pro also delivers top-notch audio performance. With 76 points, the handset has achieved the highest DxOMark audio score on any phone tested till date. The dual stereo speakers scored 77 points for playback and 71 in recording tests.
