Xiaomi to launch Redmi 5 on March 14, in India
What's the story
With the recent success of Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro in India, Xiaomi is now planning to add Redmi 5 to its product line and complete its trio of latest budget smartphones in India.
Successor to the Redmi 4 launched last year, the Redmi 5 may come at a price of Rs. 7,999.
It is expected to be launched in India on March 14.

Teaser reveals a familiar Redmi 5 design
Xiaomi's recent TV launch event concluded with a smartphone teaser which suggested a curved design with metallic looks and a camera bump.
These design elements, which align with the design of Redmi 5 already launched in China, suggest Xiaomi is bring the same smartphone to India.
It will feature a 5.7-inch HD+ (720x1440 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 282ppi pixel density.

The Redmi 5, entering the budget smartphone segment in India, will feature a 12-megapixel rear sensor with f/2.2 aperture, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), and LED flash.
On the front, we have a 5-megapixel selfie shooter with a "soft-light" display flash and Xiaomi's proprietary Beautify 3.0 software for image enhancements.

The phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor coupled with 2GB/3GB/4GB of RAM options and 16GB/ 32GB of inbuilt storage options.
With support for dual nano SIM cards, the Redmi 5 will run MIUI 9 on top of Android Nougat out-of-the-box, while packing a 3,300mAh battery under the hood.
Its dimensions are 151.8x72.8x7.7mm and weight is 157 grams.
