Xiaomi's smart home devices get Google Assistant support
Xiaomi products, which sell well in markets like India and home country China, have had a hard time gaining traction in the US, where Google and Apple dominate the market. In a bid to change that, Xiaomi is bringing support for Google Assistant to its smart home devices. With it, users will be able to control Xiaomi's smart products using voice commands.

In China, Xiaomi offers a range of smart devices other than selling smartphones which include everything from rice cookers to fitness trackers. But the devices that will be getting Google Assistant include Mi Bedside Lamp, Mi LED Smart Bulb, and Mi Smart Plug. This initial selection of compatible products will be launched in the US shortly, starting with the Mi Bedside Lamp in May.
