Xiaomi launches Mi Music, Mi Video apps in India
Xiaomi has launched free music and video streaming apps in India called Mi Music and Mi Video, respectively. The Mi Music app comes as Xiaomi ventures into yet another strategic content partnership, this time with Hungama Music. While the Mi Music app is available from today, the Mi Video app will be available to download from next week.
Listen to Hungama's 10 million freemium songs on Mi Music
Because of the latest partnership, Mi Music offers Hungama Music's entire content catalog of over 10 million tracks. The app supports over 13 Indian languages including Tamil, Gujarati, Marathi, Odia, and Bhojpuri. You also have the option of downloading songs for offline listening by paying Rs. 899 a year and getting a Hungama Pro subscription.
Sing along with lyrics scrolling on the screen in real-time
The USP of the Mi Music app is its Dynamic Lyrics feature. It highlights the lyrics of the song that is being currently played and aims at offering a karaoke-like experience, Xiaomi said. Further, if you scroll down the lyrics, the song will automatically skip ahead to that particular part. The app will soon get features like music videos, personalized recommendations, and themes.
Cast content on any smart TV with Mi Video
The Mi Video app offers videos from Xiaomi's several content partners including SonyLIV, Voot, Hungama Play, AltBalaji, Zee5, Viu, and TVF. It features over 5,00,000 hours of content, 80% of which is free. The online streaming app supports 15 Indian languages and allows you to quickly switch devices with its one-tap cast function. The app supports multilingual subtitles, more video formats, and private folders.
