Xiaomi Black Shark 2 gaming phone to launch today
Xiaomi-backed Black Shark will launch its latest gaming smartphone, the Black Shark 2, in India today. Its key highlights include a pressure-sensitive AMOLED display, dedicated liquid cooling technology, a 48MP dual rear-camera and top-end internals including Snapdragon 855 chipset. To recall, the phone was launched in China in March this year. Here's our roundup.

Black Shark 2: At a glance
Up front, the Black Shark 2 gets a regular, notch-less display with prominent bezels whereas the rear side gets dual cameras and a backlit company logo. It also features a dedicated Liquid Cool 3.0 technology for enhanced heat dissipation. Further, there's a 6.39-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with 240Hz touch response rate and Magic Press technology that lets you configure pressure sensitivity on the display.
What's the camera like on Black Shark 2?
On the back, the Black Shark 2 gets a dual camera setup comprising a 48MP primary sensor with an f/1.75 aperture and a 12MP secondary sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. The main camera unit also offers 2x optical zoom. Up front, the phone has a 20MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

The Black Shark 2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset, paired with Adreno 640 GPU, upto 12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. It also offers 4,000mAh battery, stereo speakers, dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11a/c, Bluetooth v5.0, dual-band GPS, and USB Type-C port. Further, the phone packs all standard sensors including the in-trend in-display fingerprint sensor.
Black Shark 2: What's the pocket pinch?
Black Shark 2 costs CNY 3,199 (Rs. 32,700) for the base-end 6GB RAM/128GB storage model. The mid-end 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB variants are priced at CNY 3,499 (Rs. 35,800) and CNY 3,799 (Rs. 38,800), respectively. The top-end 12GB/256GB model costs CNY 4,199 (Rs. 42,900). And while the Indian pricing details will be announced today, we expect it to arrive at around Rs. 40,000.
