The matrix ring-like structure is rumored to house at least four cameras. It is also tipped to feature a new Sony IMX 8-series sensor.
Why does this story matter?
Xiaomi is getting ready for the global launch of its flagship 12 series next week, but what people want to know is about the "real flagship," i.e., the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. Though the company is yet to announce the handset official, there have been numerous leaks about it. We expect Xiaomi to make an announcement regarding the phone during the 12 series global launch.
The handset may feature a 120Hz AMOLED display
The Xiaomi 12 Ultra will sport a punch-hole design, curved edges, slim bezels, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. On the rear, it will have a circular camera unit. The handset is likely to bear a 6.9-inch Samsung AMOLED screen with 2K resolution, HDR10+ support, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It could be offered in Black and White color options.
It may have a quad rear camera unit
The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is said to feature a quad rear camera unit with a new Sony IMX8xx primary sensor. However, the specifications of the sensors are unclear as of now. Up front, it might have a single selfie snapper.
It will run on MIUI 13 based on Android 12
The Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. Under the hood, it will boot Android 12-based MIUI 13 and pack a 4,860mAh battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless fast-charging support. For connectivity, it should support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 5G, and a Type-C port.
Xiaomi 12 Ultra: Pricing and availability
The official pricing and availability details of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be announced at the time of its launch. However, going by the leaked specifications, we expect it to cost around Rs. 70,000.
