You can soon use WhatsApp on 2 phones, simultaneously
What's the story
WhatsApp is constantly evolving its platform with new features and the latest one to come to the messaging app is a new multi-device platform.
According to WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp-focused blog, the company is developing a new feature that will allow you to use your WhatsApp account on more than one device at the same time.
Here's all about it.
First impressions
How will WhatsApp's multi-platform feature work?
According toWABetaInfo, the multi-platform feature will allow you to use your main WhatsApp account on more than one device, at the same time.
This will make WhatsApp's chatting experience similar to Telegram or Apple's iMessage service wherein you can use your main account to access messages across multiple devices including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and even the Apple Watch.
Information
WhatsApp won't require active internet connection on the main device
While nothing official is known about the upcoming feature, WABetaInfo had previously claimed that the multi-platform feature will work in sync with WhatsApp's Universal Windows Platform (UWP) or a similar platform which will offer a standard chat interface on different devices with the same account.

WABetaInfo also claims that chats will be end-to-end encrypted
As previously announced, WhatsApp is developing a feature what will allow to use your WhatsApp account on more devices at the same time. Chats will be still end-to-end encrypted because WhatsApp was developing a new method to assign keys to specific devices.

Speculations
Features might differ from platform to platform
If you look at iMessage, different platforms support different features. But, the multi-platform feature maintains a standard interface wherein you can share text, photos, and videos across all devices.
We can expect a similar standard interface for WhatsApp's multi-platform feature as well. Meanwhile, it'll be interesting to see if the new version gets voice/video call support which is currently exclusive to the mobile app.
Do you know?
WhatsApp is also working on a dedicated app for iPad
Further, WABetaInfo revealed that they have spotted an official WhatsApp app for iPad but it is currently under development. Reportedly, it has "exactly the same features of the main app, but with an iPad UI compatibility."
